To enable vulnerable children aged 0-6 years in rural communities to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential, regardless of their circumstances, by giving them access to nutritious food and quality education.
Our Mission
To nourish young bodies and minds by – distributing food, food supplements and items of comfort to preschool children to ensure that they receive at least one nutritious meal a day, and – empowering Early Childhood Development practitioners by providing quality training, ensuring standardised education in all preschools, creating a brighter future for every child.
Our Objectives
• Provide an educative, stimulating and safe environment for pre-school children.
• Train caregivers in crèche management, Early Childhood Development programs and monitor and assist in the implementation of this training.
• To provide food security for the children by supporting the educare centres with a nutritious cereal daily.
• Monitor the development of the children and evaluate the impact of our support.
• To develop the institutional capacity of Educare centres through the provision of resources.
Governance
Feed the Babies Fund is a Voluntary Association governed by our Constitution.
We are a registered non-profit organisation (NPO), registered in terms of the NPO Act 71 of 1997 (as amended). Our registration number is 002-273 NPO.
Feed the Babies Fund is also registered as a public benefit organisation (PBO) in terms of Section 30 of the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962 (as amended). Our registration number is PBO930021047. As a PBO, we are tax-exempt and approved to issue Section 18A certificates to taxpayers to allow deductions in respect of bona fide donations in cash or kind to the organisation, provided that such donations benefit the beneficiaries of the organisation.
